Derry Hill 1, Under 10C 6

HIGHBURY YOUTH UNDER 10 C TEAM.

JAN 24 2010  AWAY TO DERRY HILL .

OUR TEAM WAS -: HAYDEN (GOAL), BEN, MATTHEW R, KIERAN, BRANDON, RONAN, ELLIS, ZACK & KYLE.

The game started with a flurry from Highbury who drove the ball straight into the Derry Hill end and it looked like it was going to stay there all afternoon, our boys were ‘red hot’. They played good attacking football and it didn’t take long to produce results and after only nine minutes Ellis put the ball where it was to spend a lot of time today –in the back of the Derry Hill net  1-0 to Highbury.

The game progressed with Highbury playing the best tactical football I’ve ever seen them play, although Derry Hill had their moments, this was destined to be Highbury’s match.

Half time score Highbury 1-DerryHill 0.

50 seconds into the second half produced an indescribable mix of arms and legs , both sides vying for the ball in the Derry Hill goal mouth. It resulted in a goal for Highbury, but not without incident, the lad playing goal keeper for Derry Hill somehow got his arm trodden on and had to be substituted, however the goal stood. Highbury 2- Derry Hill 0.

After another five minutes of quick fire play Brandon managed another goal scored from a corner kick by Ronan.   3-0.

Another four minutes and Brandon repeated his previous move by scoring another cracking goal 4-0

YES THIS IS THE UNDER 10 ‘C’ TEAM-------

Twelve minutes into the second half and straight off the shoulder of Kieran our next goal 5-0.

                     CAN THIS GO ON?????

Another minute passed and yes it happened again! Kieran scored again 6-0

We then had a change of attack Derry Hill made a final spurt and after a lot of attacking and counter attacking they managed to put one into our net, well done them!

Final Score 6-1.

The last few minutes passed without incident both teams were worn out either physically or mentally but they gave us a very entertaining morning for which I thank them. The man of the match was Kieran.
