Melksham Town Youth were thirty seconds away from a deserved victory before Warminster’s Sam Thomas sent the game into extra time with the coolest of finishes in the Wilts County Cup. Despite having all the possession, Highbury couldn’t convert their chances and were eventually caught on the break, not once but twice! With the clock ticking down Recce Collier gave Highbury a life line. Minutes later and with the last kick of the scheduled 60 minutes Sam Thomas scored to make it two each at fulltime. It was the break Highbury needed. Within seconds of the restart Highbury took the lead for the first time as Luke Hardy shot low through a crowded penalty box. Melksham fought back! They caught Highbury on the break three times on the bounce, but for the outstanding Luke Slater in goal would have put the game beyond Warminster. Melksham were running out of luck, while Highbury capitalised on their possession with Ross Melia scoring his first of the season before Hardy & Collier added to their tally.
