The team consisted of—Kyle (goal), Mathew, Hayden and Declan in defence, with Ronan , Brandon and Kieron the front row. The team was ably supported by Ben ( injured) hopping up and down the side line offering constant advice.

Melksham vsited us with quite a reputation so we were expecting a sound beating from the word go, and to begin with we were not disappointed. The first few minutes were in fact dominated by Melksham taking most of the play into our half and after just two minutes setting the pace of the game by scoring the first goal, a well played move from just outside the box. This attack seamed to stimulate our lads into motion but despite many good moves and attacks by Highbury after seven miutes Melksham scored another from a high ball just creeping under the top goal rail into the back of the net. 2-0. This was followed by another after only thirty five seconds of play,3-0. And another after running straight through our defence and into our goal. 4-0. At this juncture in time spectators of both side were wondering was this worth going on with. This was a cup match and we were totally outclassed , but then a fantastic run by Brandon from one end of the pitch to the other taking on three of their players and beating them resulted in a terrific goal half time score 4-1, we were back in the game.

The second half started very similarly to the first with Melksham taking command of the pitch. But there was a definite lift in Highbury s enthusiasm .Plenty of good attacks by Ronan and Brandon well supported by Kyle(the goal position was now being played by Hayden). Unfortunately they were never quite able to convert the attacks into goals , but they tried their best. The final score was 10-1.
An unfortunate score but on the coldest day of this season against a class team Highbury did very well.
