Highbury U10 Bs arrived at Marlborough to a less than welcome collection of dark rain clouds Marlborough started the game strongly and with a bit more aggression than is normally seen. A few minutes in, Chandler was shoved by a Marlborough player, giving Aiden a free kick, but this was unfortunately deflected by the Marlborough goalkeeper. Marlborough kept the attack up, but excellent challenges from Megan helped Highbury get the ball and allowed Daniel to mount the first full attack. This unfortunately went wide. The game came straight back to Highburys goal where Dylan made a great deflection and save. Daniel and Aiden then fought straight back with a good attack. This didn't get through first time but Chandler managed to break in and shoot making the score 1-0 to Highbury. Daniel managed to immediately attack again but missed. Marlborough attacked again, but Dylan saved their next shot too. Another strong Highbury attack from Taylor and Aiden allowed Chandler shoot again and make the score 2-0 Marlborough came straight back , Dylan deflected the first shot but sadly the second tap went in, making the score 2-1 at Half time. The second half saw a renewed and consistent attack from Marlborough. Dylan made some very good decisions over which shots to deflect or save and which to ignore. Callum provided a strong defence, with Taylor and Josh running up and down length of the field, constantly intercepting Marlboroughs attacks and taking the ball back up field. Daniel and Chandler tried to make it 3-1 but the Marlborough keeper managed to save it. Marlborough managed to get past the Highbury defence leaving Dylan to face the attack alone. After another great deflection, Marlborough came straight back with a second shot making the score 2-2. Josh continued his heroic interceptions but after being hurt was substituted for Megan. Marlborough attacked again, Dylan saved the first, they attacked again but it went wide. Daniel, Drew and Chandler attacked again but couldn't get through to score The game came straight back to Highburys goal area, despite Kieran putting up a good defence, and managed to make it 3-2 in the closing minutes of the game.
