Sun 4/10/09 Calne FC Yellow 4 - WHYFC 2 (Edwardes x2)
WHYFC u15’s travelled to play early table toppers, Calne FC Yellow confident they could cause an upset and come away with the points. There was an air of determination and enthusiasm about the Highbury team as they set about their task and took an early lead for the third successive match. Calne were clearly stunned and only managed an equalizer late into the half. Further goals were scored by both teams and the match was locked at 2-2 as we approached the final 15 minutes. Whoever scored next would surely take the match and despite some near misses from Highbury, Calne found the net. Highbury surged forward in search of an equalizer but conceded again late on from a swift counter-attack. Calne were a good passing side but Highbury were more than a match for them and undoubtedly gave them their toughest assignment yet. With the same drive and enthusiasm Highbury should win many more matches in this division.
