Trowbridge Wanderers 1 Highbury Blacks 4
After a resilient performance away to an impressive Trowbridge Wanderers, Highbury Blacks have sneaked into the lead of the Mid Wilts top flight for the first time this season. Missing several key players, Highbury were held at a goal a piece until the final ten minutes of a scintillating game. Two quick-fire unstoppable shots from Luke Hardy, were followed by two goals from Chris Office and Morgan Paterson to wrestle the game from The Wanderers. The home team had their fair share of chances, but for a telling save by Luke Slater they could have taken the lead with the game in the balance. Edward Priestly’s first game of the season impressed the travelling spectators while Reece Collier worked tirelessly to create opportunities galore. Ross Melia, Sam Rabcezk and Ben Duckworth controlled the play for long periods with Charlie Dillon enjoying great form in the centre of midfield. George Findlay could have added to the tally but for the impressive home team keeper and Dewaka Gurung left the pitch having made several telling defensive tackles.
